Hi All.
I want to talk about beauty.
They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and it is very true. What one person sees as beautiful another might hate. Products that one person likes another may hate etc.
It occurred to me yesterday when I was doing a makeover for a client that beauty is a perceived idea which has gained momentum over the years and has ebbed and flowed with the women and men in the limelight.
I love Marlene Deitrich and her beautiful dark makeup with pale cheeks and skin tones, who was a screen siren way back, when women were supposed to be there for men to look at on the big screen. Greta Garbo was another one. They were beautiful but were very classy and strong women.
Another beautiful woman is Joanna Lumley with her long legs and creamy skin. She has the very classic English accent and even now is an icon around the world.
A very pretty and beautiful Audrey Hepburn and Lauren Becall, along with Elizabet Taylor, came to the screen also with totally different looks and were all classed as beautiful.
Doris Day was so cute and had the girl next door look but with her singing voice was everyone’s favourite girl, blonde and pale with a glow and a sparkle in her eyes.
Come to 80s women, you have Cher, Sally Field, Tammy Wynnette, Barbara Streisand, Elizabeth Montgomery and Tina Turner just to name a few who were all beautiful in their own way.
Fast forward to today’s times and it is more like Nicole Kidman, Emma Watson, Taylor Swift, Pink, Selena Gomez and many more.
All of the women mentioned are beautiful and have beauty in their own way but all have very different looks, use many many different skin care products and beauty products.
Whoever you ask they will have an opinion as to who looks nice and what they can do or not do to make them more beautiful. It is just that, an opinion of any person at any one time.
Problems with society is that what the public view as beautiful may not be what the person themselves see as beautiful. Therefore, they can get a sense of feeling ugly or not worthy of being in the public eye or not wanting to be themselves.
Being beautiful is not a something that is just an outward image. You can be just as beautiful inside as outside without any products being used.
Remember, if you are happy with the way you look then it is not up to any other person to judge you or make you feel uncomfortable by being you. If you choose to wear make up or use certain products that make you feel more beautiful, then that is fantastic, but don’t try to look like someone else. If you do it may make you look worse rather than better as people can see through the mask.
The above women who were in the public spot light chose to be there and they also chose their image. The image they chose was a mask on the outside whilst they were working. At home away from the cameras they were very different people and could be what you may class as a “plain Jane”, but they were still beautiful.
There are absolutely beautiful photos of women with their families enjoying life on the beach or in the woods and fields with no makeup, just sunshine and a little breeze or “Mother Natures Makeup if you like! Stunningly gorgeous and not a product in sight.
So their you have it. Just be yourself and be the beautiful person “you” choose to be with or without products inside and out.
